Jacqui Smith bans Geert Wilders from entering Britain

As the title says, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has banned Dutch MP Geert Wilders from entering Britain “in the interests of public order and security”. Never mind standing up for freedom, then.
Mr Wilders responded:
“Great Britain is sacrificing freedom of speech. You would expect something like this to happen in countries like Saudi Arabia but not in Great Britain. This cowardly act by the British government is a disgrace.”
The BBC has reported on this too but predictably it is not on its front page. Wouldn’t want to cause any offence.
As it says in Brussels Journal:
“It seems that in Britain the public debate has already been smothered to the extent that a democratically elected politician from another EU country is not allowed to come to Britain to adress a private meeting with British politicians in the Palace of Westminster.”
It truly is disgraceful that a country that fought against totalitarian imperialism in the past (albeit belatedly) should now be actually encouraging it within its own borders, and deserting those who wish to defend freedom.
The government has calculated that it can afford to offend reasonable people, because reasonable people don’t riot. But reasonable people will vote them out of power at the soonest opportunity. That is of paramount importance.
This is a day for Britain to hang its head in shame.
