Another Thought for the Day

While the BBC stonewalled all reasonable arguments for them to open up Thought for the Day to secular contributors (or at least rename it “Religious Thought for the Day”) The Guardian newspaper has stepped in to fill the gap.

In association with the increasingly active Humanist Society of Scotland, they now have a seciton of their site called Another Thought for a Day. Check it out for some interesting reflections, untainted by religious dogma. An especially important one here by AC Grayling, whose calm reason I have admired since my early days studying philosophy.

For a further supply of podcasts check out the Thought for the World site. The HSS has done a great, pioneering job here, correcting the BBC’s blatant religious bias. If you want real, intelligent, free thought – go and have a listen. In this crazy, religion appeasing world, efforts like this shine like a beacon of light.
