Letter to the NSS Newsline

Wednesday 25th February 2009 21:35 in Religion | No comments

In response to Ed McArthur (last week’s Newsline):

First of all the NSS conspicuously did not support anything Mr Wilders said, but rather his right to free speech. Terry Sanderson drew this distinction and it is an important one.

I also agree with freedom of speech providing it is not inciting violence. To my knowledge, Geert Wilders has never incited violence. The same cannot be said, however, of the Muslims who were filmed recently goading and insulting UK police and throwing cones at them while yelling “Allah Akbar”. To my knowledge no arrests were made (well, who would dare?) and the Muslim Council of Britain stayed predictably silent on the events of that day. This is not surprising since it clearly states in the Qur’an numerous times that Muslims must stick together against infidels who are – you guessed it – all going to hell.

Yet again we see Wilders compared with Hitler. This is highly ironic since he is actually the one who is trying to draw attention to a totalitarian ideology: namely Islam – one that is now officially beyond criticism in the UK. He has to live under 24/7 protection for daring to speak out and is even now prosecuted by his own government merely for pointing out what the Qur’an actually says. Thankfully 33,000 people are supporting him here: http://www.petitiononline.com/wilders/petition.html

Wilders didn’t make his film about Christianity because that is an older religion, less virulent, not growing as fast and is less obviously at odds with our culture and laws (though of course I think we would be better off without it). He mentions this point himself in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex2ZG_qUDKk

Re. his call for the banning of the Qur’an, by the way, he has merely called attention to the fact that if Mein Kampf is banned in the Netherlands, then according to that same reasoning the Qur’an should be banned too, since both represent totalitarian ideologies and contain a good deal of hate speech. He points to Dutch law, according to which the Qur’an should indeed be banned. For more information on this see here: http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/024800.php

I would finally make the point that nobody (and no organisation) should be perceived as entirely endorsing a person just because they agree with certain points they have made. This, however, was an extremely important point: freedom of debate while not inciting violence – and it was silenced and denied by our appeasing government. Freedom of speech was thereby dealt a hard blow, and the rise of Islam across the UK was yet further assisted by the religion-loving Labour Party.

Qur’an quotation

Is there scope for dialogue and compromise with Islam?

Sheepdogs and Wolves

If you think you’ve got a tough job, have a look at what the police have to contend with, while being virtually powerless.

I’ve just found this fascinating blog in which a serving police officer details events from the inside. I’m amazed he hasn’t been sacked yet for speaking the truth. He reveals that at a recent march:

  • Front line police were denied riot helmets and shields, because senior police did not want to offend people (Muslims).
  • Senior police seriously under-estimated attendance at the demo.
  • Police were attacked with a variety of objects used as potentially lethal weapons.
  • Female officers were kicked and punched by protestors (at the time the police were still forbidden from wearing their protective helmets).

Finally use of longshields was authorised, however the details given here do confirm that senior police are running scared of the government – and the government are running scared of Muslim protestors. Their policy is appeasement. The people who suffer because of this are ultimately front line police (they suffer permanent injuries and psychological trauma) and us, the general public, who are seeing out country change before our very eyes.

There is only one kind of “PC” allowed in the police now. But there should not be double standards for any group. If people want to hurl abuse and missiles at the police, they can and should be arrested on the spot. That is not happening. Exceptions are made “for fear of causing offense”. Do you think that’s right? It is a dangerous downward spiral.

And finally, do you notice the mention of the  “National Black Police Association”? Isn’t that racist? A “National White Police Association” wouldn’t be allowed, and nor should it be. Everybody should simply get along together. Real equality should not make mention of skin colour – though cultures that are incompatible with the law should of course be exposed.

Obsession: the movie

Saturday 21st February 2009 22:32 in Religion | No comments

Here is a film about the threat that radical Islam (that is, Islam followed to the letter) presents to the West. When you trace back the production you find it is financed by Jews, who of course have their own irrational religious beliefs, but it nonetheless explains this threat clearly. No wonder it hasn’t been shown on TV in the UK.

Another Thought for the Day

Saturday 21st February 2009 12:39 in Religion | No comments

While the BBC stonewalled all reasonable arguments for them to open up Thought for the Day to secular contributors (or at least rename it “Religious Thought for the Day”) The Guardian newspaper has stepped in to fill the gap.

In association with the increasingly active Humanist Society of Scotland, they now have a seciton of their site called Another Thought for a Day. Check it out for some interesting reflections, untainted by religious dogma. An especially important one here by AC Grayling, whose calm reason I have admired since my early days studying philosophy.

For a further supply of podcasts check out the Thought for the World site. The HSS has done a great, pioneering job here, correcting the BBC’s blatant religious bias. If you want real, intelligent, free thought – go and have a listen. In this crazy, religion appeasing world, efforts like this shine like a beacon of light.

Qatada judgement

Thursday 19th February 2009 21:21 in Politics | No comments

This story is perhaps evidence enough that Britain needs to pull out of Europe. That the European Court of Human Rights can over-rule our judgements is a disgrace.

And don’t forget to vote Labour out at the next election: their double standards on this and the Geert Wilders issue are unforgivable.

CBN report

You will never see a report like this on the BBC, because both they and the government are still firmly in denial over the obvious threat of Islam, and fall over themselves to appease this imperialist faith at every opportunity. But an external observer is not afraid to tell it how it is:

Number 10 petitions

Wednesday 18th February 2009 15:40 in Politics, Religion | No comments

The UK government offers a petitions site, which seems to be used primarily to stop people getting too angry about issues and give them the illusion they have some influence other than their vote.

They generally respond lamely to the petitions. See these two, for example:

But we might as well sign them then just vote this PC government out at the soonest opportunity.

So, here are two more:

And here’s another petition that has nothing to do with Number 10 but is trying to safeguard civilisation in Europe:

Banning the Qur’an

Friday 13th February 2009 19:59 in Politics, Religion | No comments

Geert Wilders is often accused of wanting the Qur’an banned in the Netherlands. He has been accused of this by Johann Hari.

This is to some degree a misrepresentation of what he has said. Wilders has rather made the point that if Mein Kampf is banned in the Netherlands, then according to that reasoning (and indeed to Dutch law) the Qur’an should be too, as both represent totalitarian ideologies and contain a good deal of hate speech. That’s all.

Personally I do not agree with any book banning . In fact I wish people would read the Qur’an so they are aware of what it actually says and why nobody should be following it.

Wilders now has more than 33,000 people supporting him and there are some great comments there as well – too many to quote. If you care about freedom of speech and civilisation in the West please consider signing this important petition.

Qur’an quotation

What Labour could have said

Friday 13th February 2009 09:56 in Politics, Religion | No comments

“Today, Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician, is visiting London – at the invitation of Lord Pearson – for a private meeting. We have received a threat of civil unrest from certain communities and even from another member of the House of Lords if Mr Wilders attends this private meeting, so let me be clear about our position on this.

Mr Wilders is an elected member of parliament of a fellow European Union country, who is guilty of no criminal offences whatsoever. We do not have the right to refuse him entry to the United Kingdom, nor do we wish to do so.

Mr Wilders brings dialogue. It may be dialogue some do not wish to hear, but the day that dialogue on controversial subjects was silenced in the United Kingdom would be a sad and dangerous day for democracy. It is a day that will not happen on the watch of the British Labour Party.

Mr Wilders lives with a constant threat to his life, though he has never incited any violence. We are being threatened with civil unrest if Mr Wilders is allowed to attend is meeting. We do not crumble under threats, we defend freedom of speech.

If people wish to protest peacefully about Mr Wilders’ presence they are free to do so. If people, however, choose to be violent, we will meet their violence with any necessary means to preserve civilised order and security in our society. We will protect those in our society who do believe in open debate and freedom of speech.

Thank you.”

They did not say this and it is why they must be voted out at the soonest opportunity.

Qur’an quotation

Important quotation

Wednesday 11th February 2009 21:30 in Politics, Religion | No comments

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property (either as a child, a wife, or a concubine) must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die; but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.

Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science (the science against which it had vainly struggled) the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”

- Winston Churchill, The River War
